Tignous
I was born in Paris in 1957, and I’ve been drawing for the press since 1980. I work regularly for the weeklies Charlie Hebdo, Marianne, Fluide Glacial, L’Express, VSD, Télérama, etc.
The first time I did courtroom sketches was during a trial in which I was the defendant, under attack by a Catholic association close to the Front National. I hadn’t gone there to Draw, but I made some sketches all the same. Since then, I have covered several trials if the subject interested me, producing illustrated reports for Charlie Hebdo: e.g. the French National Front, Noir-Botton, the Scientology trials, etc.
In 2008, I covered the first Colonna trial, making a weekly report for publication in Charlie Hebdo. This work subsequently gave rise to a book published by 12bis, which received the France-Info 2009 Prize.
