The judge’s chambers

A judge can discuss or resolve a procedural problem with the lawyers directly in his chambers. No witnesses or parties are received there.
In this type of interview, which takes place outside the courtroom, neither the judge nor the counsel wear gowns, contrary to the practice in France.
Moreover, in the USA, lawyers do not wear robes, unlike their Australian or English counterparts.
