Debates

Since the trial is the oral part of the case, the debates are essential. Judges and juries can only decide on what they hear.
The witness begins by testifying freely to the court, then the presiding judge asks questions, followed by the jury, the lawyer and the victims, the counsel for the prosecution and finally for the defence.
The accused and the victims can also speak, after asking the permission of the presiding judge, but not the public or journalists.
