Accused’s final statement

The accused’s final statement reflects the trial because here once again, the defence is last to address the court.
After the closing speeches for prosecution and defence, the presiding judge invites the accused to speak for the last time before deliberation.
The accused may express regret, claim their innocence… However, they may also refuse to speak.
